A well-established manufacturing company based in St Ives providing products globally, is seeking a senior mechanical assembler to join a successful team working for company that invests in their people.
Ideally you will have a BTEC/Apprenticeship Level 3 or equivalent in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar calibre with exposure using hand tools with a high degree of manual dexterity and the ability to read technical drawings.
You will have significant exposure of assembling mechanical or electro-mechanical products to deadlines in a manufacturing environment using MS Excel, Word and EPR/MRP software packages to pick and use components and report progress.
Reporting to the Instrumentation Assembly Supervisor/Manager, you will be responsible for the assembly of precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
Key responsibilities include:
• Test the assembled products using the relevant hydraulic or electronic equipment to the required specifications.
• Use the ERP system during assembly to pick and issue components, update the progress of each job, and assign serial numbers where required.
• Work to deadlines and meet output and productivity measures.
• Be proactive, providing ideas for continuous improvement projects.
• Follow health and safety policy, highlight any health and safety issues to line management.
• Complete all associated documentation and ensure compliance with ISO9001 procedures.
