POST: ASSISTANT PASTOR (CHILDREN DEPARTMENT)

A growing multi-national Pentecostal Church in Crewe, England seeks to employ a Minister of Religion/Assistant Pastor (children department). The candidate must have experience working with children and be able to teach and mentor the word of God (Bible).
You must be a born-again Christian, believe in Jesus Christ as the only begotten son of God, the Holy Spirit and the Holy bible as the word of God. The successful candidate must understand the Afro-Caribbean culture (should be able to speak at least one local language), and be able to minister to the need peculiar to that ethnic group.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for reaching young people and is able to communicate effectively with kids.
You will oversee our children department, lead regular under 13s ministry clubs for the children, work with other heads of departments and Pastors to ensure that Church services are conducted in accordance with our Christian Statement of Belief; lead the congregation in praise, worship and prayers.

Details of duties:
 •  Lead and oversee the Children department
 •  Prepare and deliver sermons and deputise for the Pastor (in specified assignments)
 •  Lead the congregation in praise, worship and prayers
 •  Create child-friendly environment that considers Health and Safety requirements
 •  Prepare and deliver sermons and talks including creative and educative spiritual materials for the Children and leads the congregation in worship
 •  Teach the Children Godly values and morals
 •  Engage the Children in creative arts and crafts
 •  Organise appropriate snacks and meals for the Children
 •  Perform pastoral care duties and conducts some services in accordance with our Christian Statement of Belief
 •  Undertake administration and social duties as required.

Skills, experience and qualification required of this position:

Skills
 •  Must be a born-again Christian, believe in Jesus Christ as the only begotten son of God, the Holy Spirit and the Holy bible as the word of God
 •  Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with adults (parents, team members, church leadership etc.)
 •  Excellent communication skills with children and young people and proficiency in English Language
 •  Ability to use modern and innovative ways to communicate
 •  Ability to lead or participate in church services
 •  An active, Pentecostal Christian
 •  Open to the move and voice of God
 •  Active, daily, personal devotional life.

Experience
 •  Leading regular under 13s ministry clubs in a church or team
 •  Have led under 13s discipleship in a church context, (e.g. Sunday School)
 •  Involvement in summer holiday clubs/Bible study/Christian conference weeks
 •  Experience of leading teams
 •  Ability to work proactively and with minimal supervision
 •  Experience of bible teaching and leading congregational worship in an ethnically diverse congregation is desirable.

Qualification
 •  A Bachelor’s degree or qualification equivalent of level 6
 •  Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar children’s worker position
 •  Relevant training or ongoing informal training children’s worker position.
