About the role and our team We are seeking a passionate and innovative individual to provide strategic leadership to protect and improve the health of the Isle of Man. As Director of Public Health you will hold a vital role developing, shaping and assuring the health protection function to improve the health and wellbeing of the Island’s population and will provide public health policy and clinical advice across government.
Public Heath Isle of Man is separate to UK public health systems but the Directorate works closely with UK organisations and other Crown Dependencies giving you a unique opportunity to build strong relationships and develop the service. To be successful in this role, you will be GMC registered, have strong leadership skills, political nous, plus the deep knowledge and experience in public health that will enable you to lead and inspire your team.
What can this role offer me? This is a unique opportunity to lead the public health agenda in an independent jurisdiction, working across the system with policymakers, service providers and community partners for better health and well-being for all Isle of Man residents.
You will lead a committed team of c. 25 staff, advise at Ministerial level, and in this island of just over 85,000 people you’ll be able to see the impact of your work in the community every day.
