Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently supporting a client in the search for an Operations Manager.
The client is a small family-owned business in Cranleigh, offering specialist plant hire and transportation services. This role would require someone to oversee day-to-day operations at the office, working 0700 – 1700 Mon-Fri.
Experience / knowledge of the plant and transport industries would be highly desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Build working relationships with co-workers, third party suppliers and clients.
Arrange daily work schedules, servicing, MOTs, Tacho-tests etc.
Encourage drivers in the completion of their work to meet tight schedules.
Understand workforce's skills to determine the best way to meet client requirements.
Price chargeable works, haulage jobs & ad hoc hire work, including making site visits when required.
Deal with paperwork, phone calls and email enquiries
Ensure smooth completion of repairs to the hire fleet, from initial report, ordering parts & completion of repairs.
Skills and Qualifications:
Previous practical experience or understanding of heavy machinery &/or HGV’s.
Be a dynamic problem solver.
Team player
Convey an atmosphere of reliability & mutual trust with colleagues / clients.
Act with a sense of purpose and personal agency
Have the ability to juggle a variety of tasks.
