RF Engineer
Royston | Permanent | £40,000 - £60,000/year | www.cv-library.co.uk |
Description
There's a revolution in healthcare underway. We are on a mission to put patients back in control of their health. Your RF Engineering skills could help transform the future of healthcare delivery through digital technologies. Together, we'll equip patients with life-changing tools to manage and monitor their conditions like never before.
Biosensing sits at the front and centre of the medical device innovation race. This means you'll get to develop products that deliver a more personalised patient experience by providing actionable data. It's about enabling people to self-care at home so they feel more in control of their health.
You'll be creating real-time or near-real-time sensing systems for wearable and implantable devices. And, with an estimated 537 million people worldwide living with diabetes, the Biosensing Team have ambitions for a hugely positive global impact.
But your work will reach further still.
The goal is to impact the fields of orthopaedics, neurotechnology, and cardiac care by creating innovative solutions that enhance patient health, diagnosis, condition management, and recovery monitoring.
You'll get to partner with some of the largest medical device manufacturers and exciting start-ups to support feasibility assessment, design, simulation, prototype build, testing, and transfer to manufacture. There will be opportunities to design complex antennas and systems to meet the needs of miniaturisation, deep implantable devices, reliability and range to deliver a seamless user experience.
Although the medical team will be your home, RF Engineering experience is in demand across the business. This means you won't be restricted to one project type.
Instead, you'll get to explore opportunities to apply your expertise to an array of product development programmes - spanning surgical robotics, drug delivery, satellite and space, and innovations in Life Science.
It's a role offering genuine variety, autonomy, teamwork, and tangible impact.
Why us?
You'll be working with a supportive team of world-class engineers, scientists, and designers. Together, you'll explore new technological frontiers whilst benefitting from our culture of freedom with minimal bureaucracy.
With us, you are at the wheel of your career development. Although your technical expertise will be in high demand, should you wish, there will also be opportunities to grow your leadership, communication and commercial skills.
So, if you're a self-starter who values the freedom to produce your best work, you'll fit in well here. Together, we'll discover solutions to some of the most complex technological challenges of our times.
Our new Campus is award-winning, with exceptional facilities. We have a dedicated RF laboratory, including an anechoic chamber, an on-site micro-fabrication facility, and general physics and materials laboratories.
Requirements
This is a rare opportunity for an RF and Electromagnetics Engineer to pivot into medical device development. You'll need to have a solid understanding of antenna design, but you don't been to have previously worked on medical devices.
Your application will stand out if you include details about your collaborative, analytical, and structured approach to tackling complex challenges.
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
Experience of owning the development of RF sub-system and antenna design for products.
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical / RF Engineering or a related field
Proficiency in electromagnetic simulations with commercial packages such as CST
Knowledge of test and measurement equipment aiding in antenna design and testing
