Are you an experienced teaching assistant who is pro-active and keen to come up with innovative and creative to engage learners in the classroom?

Tradewind are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class at a two-from entry primary school in Havering. The school are searching for a teaching assistant with experience working in schools and, ideally, experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
Starting in September 2024, the role will be a temporary position until the end of the academic year. This is a full-time role where you will be working full-time (5 days a week), from 8.30am - 3.30pm.

The successful candidate will need to have a strong understanding of Phonics and will have experience running Phonics and early reading interventions. The primary school is easily accessible both by car and public transport.

How will you be supporting?
 •  Providing support to a Year 1 Class
 •  Managing behaviour throughout the course of the day, focusing on positive behaviour management strategies
 •  Supporting the pupil with classwork, organising by the teacher
 •  Mark children's work and monitor their progress
 •  Working closely with the pupil's parents, class teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator
 •  Supporting the teacher with the preparation for and delivery of lessons

Requirements:

 •  Have experience working within a primary school as a Teaching Assistant
 •  Ideally, have experience working with children with SEN (such as Autism, ADHD or those with a physical disability)
 •  Have a strong understanding of Phonics
 •  Experienced leading small group interventions
 •  Confident working with pupils with challenging behaviour
 •  Hold a valid up to date clean DBS check on the update service, or be in a position to apply for one through Tradewind
 •  Hold the Right to Work in the UK
 •  Live in the UK
