We are looking for a friendly, accommodating, enthusiastic and motivated team member with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide clerical support to a specialised laboratory providing cancer testing. You will be part of a small team providing the clerical service for laboratory testing for patients across Kent and Medway.
You will be involved in all aspects of the service from sample arrival to result dispatch, including reception, booking in, result entry and report generation. A working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and Outlook is required as you will use all three on a daily basis

The Cellular Pathology department, which Molecular Pathology is part of, provides diagnostic Histology, and Molecular Pathology services for both Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells as well as Medway Maritime Hospital and Darent Valley Hospital. The molecular pathology department has recently

become the Cellular Pathology Genomic Centre for Kent and is implementing this in 2024-25.

Molecular pathology carries out a wide range of genomic investigations on samples including biopsies and various specialist surgical specimens to determine the treatment course for Lung Breast And Colonic Cancer.

Applications for the position of Health Care Support Worker are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to assist in routine office duties.

The post holder will assist with the day to day administration of the Molecular Pathology department at the Maidstone site. Printing Email requests, entering tests on to the Laboratory information system, sending results, completing spreadsheets for internal records.

Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients – the first of its kind in the country.

Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s Clinical Induction Programme for Clinical Support Workers (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the CSW Induction Programme Lead if this is going to be problematic:rallen@nhs.net), lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites.
The programme includes 2 supernumerary shifts in the clinical area (an early and a late shift), all of the other days are classroom-based and run from 9am to 5pm
