Fixed-Term Contract, Part-time - 30 hours per week

We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Assistant Psychologist to join our psychological workforce in the Adult Locality Teams (ALTs) in North Cambridgeshire. We haveone 0.8 WTE (4 days) 1 year fixed term Assistant Psychologist vacancy.
Your post will be based in the Fenland Adult Locality Team, in the market town of Wisbech.

The adult locality teams provide high quality care to people aged 17-65 who are experiencing mental health difficulties in the moderate-to-severe range, with additional concerns about safety or functional impairment. The service consists of supportive and well-established multi-disciplinary teams of healthcare professionals from a range of backgrounds.
You will work with a team of 10 psychology colleagues covering the geographical areas of Peterborough, Fenland and Huntingdon under the leadership of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

You will receive a programme of training in the delivery of Brief Psychological Interventions from senior and experienced psychology colleagues. You will also receive joint supervision from a qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist and Clinical Psychologist.

To provide a trauma informed and formulation driven psychological service to service users within the Adult Locality Teams. This role includes working directly with clients. We work closely with other services and are keen to continue to develop psychological interventions with specific client groups to meet the needs of the local population.
It will also include supporting the work of the psychological workforce and the wider multi-disciplinary team through activities such as collecting, analysing and presenting data relating to the activity of the psychology workforce, such as demand and capacity and clinical effectiveness.
You will work under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist and Clinical Psychologist and within professional guidelines of conducts and ethics and the overall framework of organisational policies and procedures.

Supporting and developing the psychological workforce is of upmost importance to us. We encourage our Assistant Psychologists to develop their skills and knowledge and seek to prepare them to progress to the next stages of their careers. We believe that research is central to the development and maintenance of effective teams and interventions.
We have close links with the University of East Anglia's ClinPsyD programme.

The main duties of the post holder include:
  1.  The provision of brief psychological interventions under supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
  2.  Supporting the psychology team in developing individual and group intervention and training materials.
  3.  Collecting, analysing and presenting data relating to the activity of the psychology workforce, such as demand and capacity and clinical effectiveness.
  4.  Contributing to ongoing quality improvement, audit, evaluation and research activity.
  5.  Working under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist and within professional guidelines of conducts and ethics and the overall framework of organisational policies and procedures.
  6.  Gaining applied experience in this healthcare setting whilst assisting with the work of clinical supervisor, the activity of the psychological workforce and the wider multi-disciplinary service.
