Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Questech Recruitment are recruiting for our client in Wakefield for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

This role will be within the food manufacturing industry where you would be joining a dynamic team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of their production lines.

Role:
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the upkeep of machinery, contributing to the high-quality standards of food production. Your expertise will be pivotal in minimising downtime through proactive maintenance and swift, effective response to any mechanical issues.

Skills & Experience:

 •  A minimum of an HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
 •  Proven experience in a maintenance role within a food production or FMCG environment
 •  Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components
 •  Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams and schematics
 •  Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
 •  Proficient in the use of maintenance management systems
 •  A proactive approach to maintenance with the ability to work independently
 •  Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities:

 •  Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of machinery and equipment
 •  Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to prevent disruptions in production
 •  Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance machinery efficiency
 •  Collaborate with the production team to ensure machinery operates at optimal levels
 •  Adhere to health and safety regulations and food safety standards
 •  Provide technical support and training to other team members when required
