PE Teacher

Teaching Personnel are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary School PE Teacher to join a dynamic educational team at one of our closest secondary school clients in the London borough of Haringey. The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic about physical education and committed to fostering a healthy and active lifestyle among students.
As a PE Teacher, you will play a crucial role in promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and personal development in our secondary school students.

Start date: September 2024

Key Responsibilities:

  1.  Curriculum Development: Develop engaging and age-appropriate physical education curricula that align with national and school-specific standards.
  2.  Instruction: Deliver well-structured and interactive PE lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  3.  Assessment: Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback, allowing for continuous improvement.
  4.  Extracurricular Activities: Organize and lead extracurricular sports and fitness programs to encourage student participation and teamwork.
  5.  Sports Coaching: Coach school teams in various sports and prepare them for inter-school competitions and tournaments.
  6.  Equipment and Facility Management: Oversee the proper maintenance of sports equipment and ensure the safety and cleanliness of PE facilities.
  7.  Health Education: Integrate health education components into the curriculum to promote healthy lifestyle choices.
  8.  Collaboration: Work closely with other teachers, parents, and staff to support student development and academic success.
  9.  Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with current trends in physical education and continuously improve teaching methods.

Qualifications:

 •  Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
 •  Teaching certification and valid teaching qualification (QTS).
 •  Previous experience in teaching PE at the secondary school level is highly desirable.
 •  Strong knowledge of fitness, sports, and health education.
 •  CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
 •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 •  Passion for physical fitness and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
 •  Strong classroom management skills and ability to create a positive learning environment.
