W Talent are now supporting a market leading manufacturing company based in Derbyshire, who are looking to recruit a highly motivated, Quality Engineer to join the QA Team. This position will be working days, Monday to Friday, with a midday finish on a Friday.

Key Responsibilities
As the Quality Engineer you will be based at the manufacturing site in Derbyshire where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained throughout the production and delivery processes. Reporting to the Quality Manager, your primary focus will include managing daily quality concerns, collaborating with suppliers and documentation control.
• Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards, conduct supplier audits, and ensure adherence to specifications and requirements.
• Incoming Inspection: Develop and implement incoming inspection procedures to verify the quality of raw materials and components, ensuring they meet defined standards before production.
• Documentation Control: Manage and maintain documentation control processes, including engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality records, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant standards.
• Drawing Interpretation: Utilize your expertise in reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accurate understanding of product requirements and specifications, facilitating effective communication with suppliers and internal teams.
• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality issues and non-conformities, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address underlying problems and prevent recurrence.
• Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance procedures, including inspection plans, test methods, and quality control processes, to ensure consistent product quality and reliability.
• Supplier Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor supplier performance, track quality metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality and reliability.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Minimum HNC/HND in an engineering discipline – Degree qualified would be highly advantageous
• Proven experience in a quality engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
• Supplier quality management and documentation control experience.
• Knowledge of quality management systems including ISO 9001.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and suppliers at all levels.
• Experience with root cause analysis techniques and corrective action implementation.
