We want to recruit a coordinator to support Ukrainians living in the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales to settle in to the area and take part in the community by accessing healthcare, education, employment and social activities. The role is flexible and likely to change to meet the developing needs of Ukrainian refugees.
It will be an interesting job and the post holder will have a great deal of autonomy to develop the job. The post holder must be able to communicate in both Ukrainian and English.

Pay: £14 per hour £11,648 per year
Hours: 16 per week: Monday 12.30pm – 3pm, the rest is flexible to suit the post holder and needs of the job.
Contract period: 12 months initially with likelihood of extension subject to funding.

Job Description
Purpose: To support Ukrainian Refugees to:
 •  Settle into the High Peak and Northern Derbyshire Dales Community,
 •  Access state services like health, welfare and education,
 •  Take part in and arrange social activities in the Ukrainian and wider community.

Main Duties:
 •  To run a weekly drop in session in Buxton for Ukrainian refugees to help them settle in, address issues and support each other,
 •  To make referrals to other Zink services e.g. advice, employability, etc. and support appointments with other Zink staff including translating where necessary,
 •  To provide practical support to Ukrainian refugees accessing services (like health, education and welfare) etc.,
 •  To make appropriate referrals to other organisations as necessary,
 •  To offer services on a regular basis in outreach locations in Glossop, Hope Valley and Bakewell,
 •  To be available to Ukrainian refugees by ‘phone or video conferencing as necessary,
 •  To recruit local volunteers to facilitate peer support sessions,
 •  To work with other Ukrainian support organisations to make sure support is widely known,
 •  To coordinate weekly English lessons at Zink HQ (delivered by ESOL teachers),
 •  Other reasonable duties as required by line manager.
Person Specification

Essential:
  1.  Able to communicate in both English and Ukrainian
  2.  Ability to work with different people with a wide variety of needs in friendly but professional manner.
  3.  Able to advocate on behalf of clients with public officials by telephone, face to face and by letter.
  4.  Know which organisations to speak to about welfare/benefits, health/GPs, schools, housing department etc. or able to ask Zink staff for advice.
  5.  Able to support clients at appointments.
  6.  Ability to maintain basic record keeping systems.
  7.  Ability to follow relevant legislation and charity policies.
  8.  Able to organise and run peer support and social meet ups as guided by Ukrainian refugees in different places and recruit and support volunteers.
  9.  Able to travel to places in the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales to deliver services.
 10.  Able to work alone with minimum supervision but also a willingness to undertake additional duties as part of a wider team.
