Staff Writer, Reviews - Tom's Guide

Future Publishing | Bath | Full-time | apply.workable.com |
One of the world’s fastest-growing websites, Tom's Guide upgrades your life by helping you decide what products to buy, showing you how to get the most out of them and solving problems as they arise. Tom's Guide is here to help you accomplish your goals, find great products without the hassle and make purchases with confidence.

We’re looking for a talented writer with a passion for getting hands on with the latest products to join our talented team of reviewers. You’ll be responsible for producing authoritative, well researched reviews in text, pictures and video form about everything from the very latest wireless earbuds to cutting-edge smartphones and more besides.

What you'll be doing…

As Staff Writer, Reviews at Tom's Guide, you'll work with the Reviews Editor to set priorities and agree reviews, write high quality reviews on key products and services, create and regularly update reviews content, especially during key seasonal periods such as Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day and organize and carry out effective, objective tests of products.

You'll write detailed reviews of your findings and take original photos of the products you are reviewing, collaborate with photographers and videographers to create video versions of your review and the highest quality assets to accompany articles, attend key industry events where required and establish strong industry contacts with leading companies to ensure we receive the latest products for review first.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve…
 •  A keen interest and understanding of consumer tech products. We don’t expect you to be an expert initially, but you’ll grasp the challenge of becoming one very quickly.
 •  Exceptional writing and editing skills – from the ability to write snappy headlines to tight grammar control, through to the ability to choose just the right image to attract readers.
 •  Ability to deliver content quickly and efficiently.
 •  An interest in and understanding of analytical and SEO tools.
 •  Knowledge of and proficiency with social media platforms.
 •  Self-motivation. The team is split across several offices and continents, so you’ll need to be able to work independently and be willing to attend meetings at other offices as required.
 •  A tireless approach to success - you’ll be able to combine coming up with transformative ideas with a determined approach to ensure they are delivered.

What's in it for you…

We have a number of awesome perks available to our staff. We offer huge opportunities to learn and develop, whether through professional qualifications, exposure to incredible business projects or informal lunch & learns, hosted by your colleagues.
We have a fantastic culture where we really do care about our people and want everyone to succeed. Varied roles mean you’re not pigeonholed in to one finite area but get the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and experience

And to top it all off, not only do we offer unlimited holiday because we trust you to manage your workload and time but we also offer a share in our success whereby every colleague is eligible to join our profit pool bonus scheme - if Future hits their performance targets all colleagues may receive a bonus.

 •  Internal job family level E7.

The expected range for this role is £24,000 - £30,000.

This is a Hybrid role from our Bath Office, working three days from the office, two from home.
