Automotive Quality Engineer (3-Month Contract)

Autoscan provides Quality Inspection, Containment & Quality Engineering Services to the Automotive, Off Highway, and all types of manufacturing industries and their supply chain.

We're looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to join an amazing team on an initial 3-month contract basis working at our customer site in Sunderland.

The Automotive Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing quality assurance processes and procedures within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

Reporting directly to the Senior Quality Engineer you will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure that the highest standards of quality are achieved and maintained.

You will conduct various inspection and testing procedures, whilst assisting in developing quality control plans, and providing guidance and support to production personnel in the areas of problem solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action.

The Automotive Quality Engineer will also create and maintain quality documentation which includes control plans, inspection and test reports.

The successful candidate will have experience of working within the automotive industry and will also have a good working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 90001/TS 16949.

Working hours will be day shift only, covering 39 hours per week.

Requirements

Automotive Quality Engineer Duties
 •  Day to day internal / customer concern management.
 •  Maintain quality control systems and processes to ensure that products meet customer and industry standards.
 •  Ensure that products are of the highest quality through inspections and testing.
 •  Analyse and document defects and feedback from customers.
 •  Maintain quality assurance standards to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
 •  Review test results and product specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
 •  Maintain quality control systems to ensure consistent production quality.
 •  Analyse and document production processes to identify areas of improvement.
 •  Conduct required audits to verify product and process quality.
 •  Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel on quality control protocols and procedures.

Automotive Quality Engineer Skills
 •  Analysing defects and quality issues in automotive components.
 •  Developing and implementing quality control processes and procedures.
 •  Executing tests to assess product reliability.
 •  Completion of quality metrics and reports.
 •  Maintaining and improving quality standards.
 •  Knowledge of automotive and manufacturing processes, quality management systems, and related standards is essential.
 •  Proficient in data analysis, problem solving, and root cause analysis.
 •  Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The successful candidate will need to have strong attention to detail and be proficient in troubleshooting and analysing problems. Excellent communication skills will also be required, alongside strong organisational and time-management skills, as you will also be operating within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
