We are supporting an incredible, purpose driven property business to help them recruit a Service Charge Accountant to join their Client Accounting Team in London, with some hybrid working available.
The Client Accounting Team work closely with the property clients to provide them with market-leading accounting services, but also play a crucial role in the management of property and lease data, service charge account management, together with accurate and timely financial reporting.
The aim of this role is to provide an outstanding day-to-day accounting service, almost as an extension of the clients own Accounts Team.
The role:
Preparation, reconciliation and recharging of annual service charge accounts to agreed deadlines
Review of service charge set-up and on-going service charge system maintenance for all properties
Monthly analysis and review of expenditure incurred, posting prepayments
Working closely with external Auditors
Providing information and insight to property management colleagues
Identifying committed expenditure, including variance analysis reporting
Service charge budget updates
Service charge cash reconciliation up to trial balance
Getting to know assigned properties and specific client requirements
Skills & Experience Required:
Experience in property service charging is essential for this role
Experience of working with TRAMPS property management system would be an advantage
Experience in closing year end accounts and demand balancing service charges
Ability to reconcile service charges
Understanding of general VAT requirements for commercial property
