Teaching Personnel has been approached by a specialist provision in Wimborne which caters for pupils aged 6-19 with complex social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, specialising in Autism. Many pupils who attend this school have not had a previously good experience at school and have been persistently absent from education.
As a result, the pupils have large gaps in their learning and have low confidence levels in their academic ability.

 •  As a 1:1 Autism Support you will be responsible for:
 •  Supporting students with ASC, altering your approach accordingly.
 •  Liaise with TA’s and parents to maximise student achievements.
 •  Encourage pupils to engage with their education through a positive approach.
 •  Build positive relationships with pupils.
 •  Praise good behaviour.
 •  Deal with potentially difficult situations.

You must have previous experience working with children with ASC and must be comfortable when facing challenging behaviour.
