Optimised Staffing solutions are seeking a Health and safety Manager for our client in the chester area.
Due to continued growth they are looking for an experienced individual to work within an established team on an immediate basis.

Job Details and responsibilities
 •  Assist in maintaining company SHE-QA management systems in accordance with ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001. Perform inspections and audits as appropriate, and take a proactive stance in resolving highlighted issues.
 •  Ensure all teams, production processes and products adhere to the appropriate QA standards and SHE systems via active liaison and face to face interaction
 •  Take an active lead in accident and near miss investigations, and ensure that root causes are established and appropriate actions put in place to prevent recurrence
 •  Provide in house in training in line with our refresher period requirements.
 •  Provide advice and support on any ad-hoc activities & projects relating to quality, safety & environment
 •  Maintain calibration of all essential checking and measuring equipment on site, ensuring it is fit for purpose and traceable to international calibration standards.
 •  •Actively liaise with all departments to ensure adequate monitoring of site safety rules.
 •  •Assist other members of the team and production front line leaders in day to day maintenance of health & safety and environmental management systems including aiding production of risk assessments and safe systems of work
 •  •Ensuring the site COSHH system is fully implemented, including risk assessing potential new substances on site and maintaining the existing register
 •  •Following up on display screen assessments for the site as required
 •  •Assist in development of SHE systems as required for specific special projects, new equipment and production lines including risk assessments, safe systems of work, machine inspection records, LTT instructions etc.
 •  •Assist with the contractor control activities including pre qualification, assessment of RAMS packs, completing contractor inductions, completion of permits to work and spot checks of contractor activities as required
 •  •Liaise with other UK sites to assist in maintaining system alignment, ensure shared best practices between the sites and deliver in house training requirements as required. (This may include occasional travel to other UK sites)
 •  •Supporting our waste management processes and ensure that waste is correctly segregated, labelled, stored and collections are coordinated in a timely fashion by reputable waste carriers. Assist in waste carriers interaction with site and maintaining documentation.
 •  •Administration and support towards ongoing health screening of the workforce including occupational health checks, vibration monitoring, prescription eyewear etc
 •  •Maintain high quality records of all required elements of our EHSQ systems
Candidate Essentials
 •  NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent
 •  Experience in working in the manufacturing sector
 •  Experience and working knowledge of ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 and ISO45001
 •  Practical experience of implementing SHE systems, performing risk assessments, producing safe systems of work etc.
 •  Competent in MS Office suite
 •  Ability to work on multiple tasks and work cross-functionally to identify issues and implement solutions and improvements
 •  Practical experience of delivering training
Pay
 •  £38,000-£45,000 Per year
