Quantity Surveyor - Building / Construction
Location - Lancashire / North West (Mix of office, site visits and remote work).

Duties:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for:
Measurement and valuation of works in progress. Participation in the management of the supply chain and project costs of construction projects to ensure the overall financial success of a project. Responsible for the commercial management of all or part of a project and/or a number of trade packages within the project.
Responsibilities
• To ensure the full and proper implementation of the Company’s Procedures;
• To generate/maintain relevant records, accurate filing and support for all commercial functions;
• To ensure the prompt and regular submission of main contract payment applications and subsequent cash collection together with the preparation of sub-contractor payments;
• To prepare draft sub-contracts to the level of responsibility delegated by the individual’s supervisor;
• To monitor sub-contractor performance in consultation with senior staff;
• To participate in pricing variations/design cost control/value engineering;
• To participate in the recording of delays & preparation of any request for extensions of time;
• To participate in the settlement of main contract final accounts;
• To attend meetings with other stakeholders (if so delegated to do);
• To assist senior staff in the compilation of data to monitor individual contract performance on a monthly and quarterly basis;
• Supervision of work allocated to Trainee QS or Graduate QS staff;
• To apply a neat and accurate approach in all day to day activities and to strive to enhance one’s own professional capability;
• To be aware of business continuity processes via Line Manager;
• Any other duties relevant to the role.
Requirements:
To be considered for this Quantity Surveyor role you must meet the following criteria:
• Previous employment as a QS / Quantity Surveyor / Project Surveyor or Assistant QS ready for promotion.
• Previous Main contractor employment.
• Previous building sector project experience is essential.
Permanent job only.
Remuneration:
• Competitve basic (dependent on experience)
