WEEE Compliance Manager - (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)

Location - Stratford Upon Avon, CV37 0HR

Hours - Monday to Friday, 8:30-5:00. 1 day in the office and the rest remote, however this can change on occasion.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Manager within our WEEE waste team based in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

The role will be full time with hybrid working, typically 1-2 days a week in Stratford Upon Avon office the other three to four from home.

The WEEE Compliance Manager has total responsibility for the scheme and ensuring all deadlines and Agency standards are met. The individual will need to deal with the technical and administrative aspects of the scheme, including annual member registrations, quarterly / annual data returns for both customers and suppliers.
Furthermore organising, actioning, and completing the WEEE audit schedule for customers. You will be supported by the team and there is administrative support to help achieve the deadlines and workload.

Responsibilities -
 •  First point of contact for Environment Agency for WEEE, dealing with queries and reviews.
 •  Manage the annual registration, quarterly return, resubmission, queries process and audit schedule.
 •  Registering members through Transform admin system and to the Environment Agency.
 •  Responsible for collecting and verifying WEEE & Battery returns.
 •  Member communication and account management of key WEEE clients
 •  Ensure up to date on Legislation changes.
 •  Ensure compliance with all QA procedures in line with job tasks.
 •  Responsible for recruitment and retention of WEEE members.
 •  To provide first line support to members and internal departments.
 •  To provide cross-functional support to the Packaging Scheme.
 •  Train the team on WEEE and support required.
 •  A champion of Biffa compliance and company values.
 •  Monitor account portfolio Bad Debt.

Requirements -
 •  Ideally a knowledge of the WEEE Regulations and its practical application.
 •  Knowledge of how to complete data, registration data (EEE/WEEE) and the verification process.
 •  Strong Excel skills and able to work with large data files.
 •  Sound knowledge of other office applications.
 •  The ability to take on projects and to meet deadlines.
 •  Good report writing skills.
 •  High level of numeracy and literacy.
 •  Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate at all levels.
 •  Able to work effectively in a small team.
