Role – Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location – Derry/Londonderry (Site Visits Required)

Project – Residential Projects

Salary – Competitive Plus Package

About the Company:

A leading Main Contractor who is one of Northern Ireland's leading private and social house builders have an immediate requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their experienced and ever-expanding Team.

You would report to the Managing Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager and have the support of a team of Quantity Surveyor’s.

The successful candidate will be based in the office but will be required to visit sites as required every week.

Key Responsibilities:

 •  Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts.
 •  Ensure sub-contractors are pre-qualified in accordance with management systems.
 •  Procurement of sub-contractors and preparation of sub-contractor order documentation.
 •  Assessing and certification of sub-contractor interim payments.
 •  Preparation of Interim valuations and final account.
 •  Managing and valuing variations.
 •  Production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation on contracts.
 •  Establish, maintain and enhance effective working relationships.
 •  Plan, allocate and evaluate work carried out by teams, individuals and yourself.

Specification:

 •  Third level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction management.
 •  8+ years’ experience with a Main Contractor in the Building Sector in NI or ROI.
 •  Experience working within Social/Private Housing Sector.
 •  Proficient in Microsoft excel and project.
 •  Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
 •  Demonstrates commercial awareness – market, competition, value for money.
 •  Clean Drivers License.
