Maternity Contract

Teaching Personnel are seeking an Educator to cover an English maternity contract in a lovely secondary school in the Torfaen area. This role is due to start in September and will be 2 terms in duration. The school are open to accepting Newly Qualified Teachers for this role and Cover Supervisors with strong literacy skills or experience.

About the role:

Temporary Maternity Cover.
September 2024 start.
2 terms in duration.
Full-time Monday to Friday.
08:30am-15:00pm.
Full responsibilities including lesson planning, marking, parents evenings.
Paid to scale in line with the Welsh framework – starting at £157.66 daily rate.

About you:

Fully Qualified English Teacher (desirable).
Excellent subject knowledge in English Literature and Language.
Able to commit to a full-time role.
Passionate about inspiring pupils.
Able to teach years 7-11 (up to GCSE level).
Seeking a challenge.

About the school:

This is an opportunity to join a lively secondary school where the staff are committed to offering a high level of education to their pupils. The school has a strong and encouraging senior leadership team that will support you throughout your placement.

The school has a large onsite car park and access to public transport links. This is a mixed secondary school for ages 11-16. The school are looking for an individual that is bubbly, engaging and able to bring a fresh dynamic approach to the English department.
The school would consider a Cover Supervisor (Educator with an English Degree) or applicable coaching experience with strong literacy skills.
