Operations Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join a family-run SME based in Saxilby. As an Operations Manager you will be joining the Senior Leadership Team, and will oversee all operational aspects of the strategy, helping set strategic goals and be responsible for the flow of operations information throughout the organisation.

This opportunity will oversee all operation activities of the company (including core production, chemical production, customer repairs, dispatch, logistics, warehousing, Health & Safety and building facilities) to ensure that business objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
As a key member of the senior Leadership team, the Operations Manager will ensure the successful execution and delivery of all orders, managing order processing, quality control, fulfilment, and distribution.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
 •  Lead the Operations team, ensuring team members are informed, motivated, and trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.
 •  Act as a Lean ambassador and advocate, ensuring all operational processes are effective, efficient, and continually reviewed for improvement.
 •  Develop and control operational budgets to achieve profitability targets
 •  Manage the Operational budget and forecasting on a weekly basis
 •  Act as the Company’s key adviser on all issues relating to the Operations function and keep abreast of best practice to ensure the Company remains competitive.
 •  Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that the Operations function achieves the required business objectives, whilst ensuring a safe and healthy working environment is maintained.
 •  Build and maintain relationships with the wider Leadership team to ensure effective co-ordination of all Company activities.
 •  Responsible for the Health & Safety of the Company, including chemical manufacturing
 •  Management and coordination of daily production and dispatch activities to ensure productivity, efficiency, and OTIF score
 •  Planning of production and dispatch of large project orders
 •  Management of operations team HR including regular 1 to 1 meetings and reviews
 •  Liaison with customer services/sales regarding urgent orders, product queries, assembly queries

Requirements
 •  Proven track record in a Senior Operations role
 •  Ideally experience of working with ‘Lean’ manufacturing principles
 •  In depth knowledge of operations processes
 •  Proven leadership skills
 •  Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills
 •  Thorough attention to detail and a desire to continually improve
 •  Resilience, determination and positivity
 •  Experience using Orderwise or other ERP systems
 •  Previous experience in managing production and manufacturing
 •  Previous experience in chemical production would be helpful but not compulsive
 •  Experience in arranging shift work would be helpful

Hours: Monday - Friday - 07:30 am- 16:30 pm (with a degree of flexibility)

Benefits
