Tradebe are looking for a Mechanical Technician to be based on our site in Fawley.
The key elements for the role are:
To be responsible for ensuring that appropriate repair and maintenance requirements are identified and undertaken as necessary to maintain plant availability
To perform all duties in accordance with documented work requirements, legislation, company polices whilst mainaining standards in the areas of safety, quality and environment
The role
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Advise management of safety issues
• Carry out risk assessment and method statement for routine and defect maintenance tasks as required
• Maintain a good standard of housekeeping
• Responsible for determining and executing repair and preventative maintenance to mechanical machinery
• Carry out planned maintenance
• Help other maintenance colleagues in routine tasks or major overhaul
• Provide mechanical maintenance support to maximise plant operations
• Provide assistance and support to the Engineering Department as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
• Recommend modifications or maintenance procedures that enhance the departments performance
• Assist in the detailed planning of and preparation for the plant maintenance shut down periods
The Person
In order to do this role well, you will have a mix of the following skills.
Essential Skills:
• Numeracy, literacy and experience of computerised software packages
• Good communication skills and a team player
• Valid Driving Licence
• FLT Driver
• High standard of workmanship
• Flexible in approach to work
Knowledge and experience:
Good experience in and Mechanical maintenance and installation
Proven experience of refurbishing pumps (centrifugal, piston, mono), conveyors, elevators, shredders, hydraulics, filter presses, bearings, gear boxes, fans etc.
Good knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
Knowledge of DCS, ESD and PLC based control systems
Qualifications: NVQ Level III or HNC in mechanical maintenance. Recognised technicians' apprenticeship

Salary from £32,000 - £35,000
Quarterly bonus
25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
