School Caretaker

We are looking for a hard-working and reliable senior caretaker to ensure the safe operation, statutory compliance and general maintenance of the school. This is a permanent position, afternoons only from 1pm - 5.30pm.
We are looking for someone who will take pride in the management, maintenance and cleanliness of our school premises. We work collaboratively as a team and therefore the successful candidate will be approachable, adaptable and have a 'can do' attitude to meet the needs of this fast paced, school working environment.
We would be delighted to hear from you if you are:
• Able to prioritise, with a commitment to providing a high-quality service.
• Experienced in building maintenance.
• Hard-working, punctual, and committed to keeping the school site safe, secure and clean and are willing to work as part of a dedicated team.
• An excellent timekeeper, reliable and trustworthy.
• Have good attention to detail.
• Able to demonstrate an understanding of Safeguarding.
• A good communicator and have good interpersonal skills.
• Able to demonstrate knowledge and or experience of Health & Safety in the workplace.
• Able to manage site security and be a key holder.
• Confident in general maintenance and have a range of practical trade or DIY skills applicable to the role.
• Able to solicit quotations to achieve best value for site works.
• A positive role model for both staff and pupils.
• Prepared to undertake relevant training required for your role.
• Oversee and monitor the regular and emergency work of morning caretaker.
Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged.
Working hours - 22.5 hours per week, 52 weeks a year
Including 28 days annual leave (to be taken during school holidays)
Monday to Friday. 1:00pm - 5:30pm.
Salary range £16,836 to £18,731 per year
Closing date: 4pm on 3rd May 2024
Interviews will be held on 7th and 9th May
Appointment is subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people including an enhanced DBS check
