Our client, a reputable company based in Stourbridge, is seeking a skilled and experienced Accounts and Payroll Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling financial matters, with specific proficiency in Sage 50, Sage Payroll, Nest, HMRC submissions, bank reconciliation, nominal ledgers, end-of-year and end-of-month procedures, as well as VAT returns.

Full-time (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm), Flexible/Part-time hours negotiable

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities:

 •  Manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable processes. Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.
 •  Process payroll accurately and in a timely manner using Sage Payroll.
 •  Handle pension contributions and submissions to Nest.
 •  Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
 •  Maintain nominal ledgers and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
 •  Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
 •  Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
 •  Stay updated on relevant regulations and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

 •  Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a corporate environment.
 •  Proficiency in Sage 50, Sage Payroll, and other relevant accounting software.
 •  Strong understanding of HMRC regulations and experience with submissions.
 •  Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
 •  Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
 •  Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
 •  Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
 •  Relevant accounting qualifications (e.g., AAT) would be advantageous but not essential.
