We need a dedicated and dynamic individual to join a residential special school for children age 7 - 16 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and who have had negative experiences in mainstream education.

Responsibilities:
 •  Assist in preparing learning materials and organising classroom activities.
 •  Provide hands-on support and supervision.
 •  Foster individual development and engagement with the world.
 •  Adapt to various classroom roles, indoors and outdoors, based on individual requirements.
 •  Lead activities, facilitate outdoor experiences, and ensure safety during exploratory outings.
 •  Assist the classroom teacher in running exciting lessons & maintaining a clean and safe classroom.

Requirements:
 •  Provide support and guidance, and enhance the quality of life for the child and family.
 •  Strong teamwork skills, coupled with the ability to share ideas and collaborate effectively.
 •  Passion for working with neurodiverse pupils, particularly those with SEMH.
 •  Reliable, persistent and loyal, with a good sense of humour and strength of character.
 •  A variety of interests outside the curriculum that would lend themselves to leading activities with children.

All applicants are subject to a satisfactory enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and at least two independent references.
