Our client is thrilled to present a career opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter. Within this role, you'll report to the Workshop & Site Supervisors and ultimately to the Operations Manager. It's a hands-on position that spans across the realms of mechanical engineering, requiring work in both a dedicated workshop and various onsite locations.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Performing dismantlement of a wide range of mechanical equipment, including but not limited to pumps, motors, gearboxes, and screens. This involves conducting thorough inspections and measurements to ascertain repair methodologies.
• Engaging in fault diagnosis within mechanical equipment, supported by the provision of specialist equipment from our client.
• Executing repairs and refurbishments of mechanical equipment under the Operations Manager's direction.
• Operating within diverse environments such as Water Utility, Power Industry, and Government sites as part of a proficient mechanical & electrical team. Tasks may include working at heights, in confined spaces, and within both sewerage and potable water contexts.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally backed by a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship. Previous experience in Water Utilities or the Power Industry will be highly regarded.
• Possession of a full UK driving licence.
• Knowledge or experience in onsite health and safety regulations. Candidates with training in confined spaces and water hygiene will stand out, though training can be provided.
• The ability to operate autonomously and exhibit excellent team communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with a knack for juggling multiple tasks effectively.
