Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Availability: Full Time
Role Overview:
Greenfield E-ACT Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team starting in September. This position involves providing one-to-one support to a child in reception throughout the academic year.
Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored one-to-one support to a child in reception, addressing their individual learning needs and ensuring their academic progress.
• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and inclusive lessons that cater to the child's learning requirements.
• Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for the child.
• Support the child in developing key skills and concepts across various subjects, including literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
• Create a supportive and nurturing learning environment that fosters the child's confidence and independence.
• Monitor and assess the child's progress regularly, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO as necessary.
• Assist with the management of classroom behavior and provide guidance and encouragement to the child as needed.
• Establish positive relationships with the child's parents or guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and addressing any concerns or queries they may have.
Requirements:
• Relevant experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or in a similar role within a school setting.
• Strong understanding of early childhood development and experience working with children in the early years (Reception).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Understanding of and commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the school community.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the individual needs of the child.
• HLTA qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
