Care Home Activities Coordinator Needed near Northwood!
 •  £11.50+ per hour

We are currently recruiting for one of our client’s beautiful Care Homes near Northwood, and require an Activities Coordinator for a permanent role. You will need to have keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, be a real team player, adaptable and have the ability to turn your hand at just about anything.
Most importantly, you will need to be extremely creative and love working with people!

You will ensure a stimulating environment is provided for the residents within the care home, working both on your own and also collaboratively with some events to provide a regular programme of activities with fun and engaging pursuits on offer daily.
This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to work in a fun and supportive environment working in a 26 bedded Care Home specialising in elderly and dementia care and their most recent CQC report is "GOOD" in all areas. Each Activity Coordinator brings their own ideas to the role and will find their own unique strengths but it is essential to offer a varied and diverse programme to engage residents with a manner of different interests.

The role pays £11.50 per hour working flexible shifts on a contract for 25 hours per week. Previous Activities Coordinator experience is essential. Applications from experienced Care Assistants and Senior Care Assistants with activities knowledge looking to change their role in care are welcomed.

The Role:

As an Activities Co-ordinator your focus will be on making the home an interesting and stimulating place to live, and the residents’ lives fulfilling. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining an inspiring programme of leisure pursuits and social events for both individuals and groups of residents.
You will have the support of Care Assistants and Senior Care Assistants who will assist and aid with the activities

Activities Coordinator Responsibilities:

 •  To maintain a stimulating programme of leisure pursuits and social events
 •  Produce and advertise within the Home, a weekly social events programme
 •  Lead and direct Care Assistants assisting with activities and events
 •  To ensure that the social care plan for each resident is in place within three weeks of the date of admission and reviewed regularly.

Required knowledge & experience:

 •  2 years’ previous experience in a caring role or similar background, e.g. Activities Coordinator, Care Assistant or Senior Carer – elderly care experience is preferred
 •  NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desired, but not essential
 •  Understanding of the types of activities older people enjoy.
 •  Ability to plan a calendar of activities.
 •  Able to work as part of a team and individually, e.g. alongside another Activities Coordinator and volunteers.
 •  Sense of Fun, Flexibility and ideas for things to do daily.
