About The Role

We’re currently looking for an Engineering Stock/ Stores Controller to join our xxxxxxx manufacturing site. Reporting to the Engineering Planner, you will work closely with the engineering and production teams to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption.

In this job you’ll be a core member of the engineering team and play a crucial role in developing and managing the site materials management process, resulting in an optimised inventory holding which is available to staff on demand. You will ensure that the correct specification and quality standards are controlled through a rigorous spares issue and receipt process.

Specifically, you will take direct responsibility for the process to control stock movements (issue & receipt) from held inventory, resulting in proven accuracy of engineering stock holdings. You will also ensure that the layout and order of the Engineering Store is optimised, using Lean 5S techniques, to ensure that held spares can be located within 90 seconds.
You will also be required to support engineering administration, systems, ordering and overall budget support.

About You

You will be used to working in a busy engineering department, we're looking for someone who: Strong Computer/database skills

Support of Departmental Databases and systems.Has experience in management of detailed inventories using computerised systems
Focuses on detail, be highly organised, self motivated and dependable
Has strong analytical and decision making capability
Has experience in Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Inventory Optimisation/Control
Ability to understand engineering terminology and common asset types
Is capable of identifying common engineering parts (ideally within a food manufacturing environment)
Knowledge of Food Manufacturing Assets & Food Safety Standards
Experience of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) Systems
Involvement in contractor control and management
