Salary: £25-32k
Location: Near Huntingdon
Hours: 37.5 hours Monday to Friday

Our client is a dynamic company based near Huntingdon and in the electronics manufacturing industry. They are seeking a Buyer to join their Purchasing team. As a Buyer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth procurement of goods, materials, and services to meet our operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Process customer requirements and collate supplier pricing accurately.

Purchase goods, materials, or services meeting cost, quality, and delivery targets.

Confirm delivery timescales and resolve any delays.

Maintain continuous supply and communicate supply problems.

Keep accurate records of all orders within MRP.

Resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues with suppliers.

Provide cover for the stores team as needed.

Research and evaluate existing and new suppliers.

Support meetings with current and potential new suppliers.

Assist in supplier assessment, negotiation, and contract management.

Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.

Develop strategies for operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

Maintain professional supplier relationships.

Manage agreed customer accounts.

Respond flexibly to management requests.

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience.

Experience in manufacturing purchasing (desirable).

Knowledge of electronic components/PCBs (ideal).

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Excellent IT skills, including Intermediate Excel.

Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (desired).

Attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Self-motivated and enthusiastic.

Willingness to work in goods in and stores department as required.

This role is also suitable for candidates with experience as a Junior Buyer, Purchasing Controller, or Buyer.
