Classroom Support are excited to be working with an incredible SEN School (Pupils aged 7-19) in Chelmsford!

Classroom Support are currently searching for a promising SEN Teaching Assistant on behalf of a wonderful SEN (Special Educational Needs) School in Chelmsford. This “Outstanding” (Ofsted) school supports pupils with moderate learning difficulties - including multiple and complex needs - such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), speech, language and social communication difficulties.

The ideal candidate will be a hardworking SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting students who have special education needs (SEN). Ideal candidates will have experience supporting such students in 1:1 and group settings and have first-hand experience working with children with SEN such as ASD, PMLD or SLD.

It is essential that you have previous experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs, are confident in supporting children with ASD, PMLD or SEMH.

The specifications of the role are as follows:

 •  Monday to Friday – 8:30am to 3:30pm (term-time only).
 •  £85-95 per day.
 •  Weekly pay.
 •  To supervise and provide educational support for pupils with special educational needs.
 •  To provide support for individual pupils inside and outside of class to help them interact with others and to engage in classroom activities.
 •  To use effective behaviour management techniques.
 •  To provide detailed and regular feedback about the pupil(s) to their teacher.
 •  To demonstrate patience and resilience when supporting challenging pupils.

To start in April/May 2024.

The requirements of the role are as follows:

 •  You must have a valid enhanced DBS certificate (registered on the update service) or be willing to pay for a new one (£52.20).
 •  You must have previous experience supporting pupils with SEN.
 •  You must be confident & comfortable working with challenging pupils.
