Job Title: Children Senior Support Worker
Base Salary: £26,000 to £26,500
Location: Northampton
Social Care & Education is looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker who is a cheerful, patient, and compassionate individual to join a friendly team. You will be responsible for providing day to day care for young adults, supporting them in daily activities.
You must be willing to work as part of a team and have experience in managing staff in a children’s home setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality support to young adults, focusing on their physical, psychological, emotional, and recreational development.
• Ensure young people are attending full-time education.
• To ensure that the home has the right ratio of staffing for the service.
• Establish positive and trusting relationships with the young people to make them feel safe.
• Assist young adults in preparing for independent living and support them in daily life.
• Aid with personal care when necessary.
• Accompany young adults in the community and support them with everyday tasks.
• Assist with financial matters such as bill payments.
• Help with cooking and cleaning as needed.
• Support young adults transitioning out of care.
• Be proactive and address any safeguarding concerns.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures.
• To identify and implement boundaries when needed.
• Managing a team
Requirements:
• Experience working with young adults aged 12 to 17 years old, including those with challenging behaviour and mental health needs.
• Experience of shift leading and supervising staff
• Complete LAC reports and attend external meetings.
• NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People.
• Safeguarding Children Certificate.
