Business Performance Analyst

Location: Flexible - Remote/ Hybrid/ On-Site
Salary Band: £50,000 - £70,000

Drawing on your experience as a Data Scientist, in your roles as Business Performance Analyst you will work with an array of stakeholders from across the business to add value to the business; helping lead teams to reach better, data-driven, decisions.
Experienced in working with cross-functional teams you'll systematically approach problems and utilise your skills and analytical mindset to find solutions to challenges.

You'll be confidently able describe the value add of the project and execute this.

You'll have an ability to approach situations with a critical mindset to uncover the full potential of projects while taking on board new skills to apply.

What will I be doing?

The Data Team is a crucial part of Twinkl and our team of 20+ has worked with every team in the business to help our customers. Our Data Science team has to cover the full spectrum of Data Analysis and Science, including: - Data Collection, Descriptive Data, Investigating Data, Diagnosing Problems and Predicting and Prescribing allowing our Data Scientists to use their skills in visualisation, statistics, machine learning and critical thinking.

As a Business Performance Analyst you will need to be able to balance high-quality reporting with innovative data science to connect the dots and drive key business strategy.

Here are some examples of our past and ongoing projects:

 •  Maximising payment authentication rates to prevent fraudulent transactions while ensuring uninterrupted customer access
 •  Enhancing search engine logic with machine learning techniques for an optimised search experience
 •  Statistical modelling and forecasting of key business functions to meet user needs effectively
 •  Developing data pipelines for near real-time analytics of customer needs to proactively identify and address gaps in our product offering
 •  Enhancing our data reporting visualisation offering for the wider team including our reporting on marketing campaigns
 •  Calculating ROI for our merchandise incentives
 •  Optimising renewal and upgrade processes for our sales team.

Requirements

Technical Skills:

 •  Must possess a strong foundational knowledge and practical experience with SQL, Python, any one Visualisation Software and be able to use these with key data science and analysis concepts to drive value.
 •  Ideally familiar with Google Analytics, BigQuery, Jira, Tableau or R.

Plus Evidence of:

 •  Stakeholder management: Ability to manage various stakeholders and projects including working with non technical stakeholders.
 •  Problem solving: Ability to systematically approach problems and utilise your skills, analytics mindset and resources to solve the problem.
 •  Organisation & Prioritisation: Ability to independently manage workload whilst working with deadlines.
 •  Team Work: Ability to work well within a team of data scientists and sharing knowledge.
 •  Value Add: Ability to identify clearly the value add of work to project and execute this.
 •  Decision Making: Ability to make decisions and strategic calls based on data and business context and confidence to take on ownership for those decisions.
 •  Critical Thinking: Ability to approach situations with a critical mindset to uncover the full potential of projects
 •  Self-Learning: Independently acquiring new skills and continuous professional development
