Clinical/Counselling Psychologist | NELFT NHS Foundation Trust

North East London NHS Foundation Trust | Southend-on-Sea | findajob.dwp.gov.uk |
WELCOME BONUS**

We are excited to be offering an opportunity for a Band 7 clinical or counselling psychologists to join our service in Southend Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service.
We are looking for an individual who is caring, competent and driven to provide compassionate care to the varying mental health needs of our children and young people.

We are a very supportive team and high performing team, looking for a clinician who is driven, willing to learn and can provide supervision to junior colleagues.

If you are looking to be part of a hard-working, high performing, diverse and supportive team, then do express your interest.

To provide specialist psychological input to children and young people presenting with complex mental health difficulties.

To be a part of the senior leadership team and support with team priorites such as waiting list, treatment times, supervision, etc.

To provide Clinical Discussion/ reflective practice Groups for the team.

To offer staff support and consultation to members of the wider team where your expertise is required.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT places a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.
As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
This will follow another 2 weeks of robust local induction with us in Southend.

COVID-19 Vaccination

We continue to encourage all staff to ensure that they have been double vaccinated and received their booster. We recognise that taking the vaccine provides the best defence against COVID 19 for our patients, our staff and their families.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

The post holder will work alongside the Clinical Lead and Team Manager to help support the delivery of psychological support across the service. They will be responsible for assessment, treatment and systematic outcome measurement and provide clinical supervision of staff.
The post holder will be accountable for their own professional actions and will work within professional ethics & NELFT NHS Trust Policies.

As a senior clinician within the service, you will bring highly developed knowledge of specialist therapeutic assessment, formulation and intervention skills and specific knowledge and expertise in psychological interventions.

This post would suit someone with a strong interest in working with young people who present with complexity and significant levels of distress, working with the wider systems including education, social care and family/carers.

This post is eligible for the Trust 'Welcome to NELFT' Payment, a lump sum of 10% of agreed basic salary (pro rata if part time and exclusive of HCAS payments) (subject to a minimum of £4,000 and maximum of £10,000) and is open to all new applicants who are successfully appointed.
Payment of the incentive is 50% of the lump sum at the end of the probationary period (typically six months) and then 50% at the end of year two. This welcome package is applicable to external candidates only.

Candidates should be aware that welcome payments are subject to a compulsory 2 year employment period within the role.

If you are an overseas qualified nurse and wanting to start your journey to becoming a UK based registered nurse with the NMC, you can check whether you are eligible to be supported through our Capital Nurse consortium.
