We are representing a successful and growing medium-sized consultancy specializing in building design projects. The firm focuses on a mix of commercial and residential sectors, and they are currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team based in the Ipswich area.

Role Overview:
We are looking for a talented Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to our client's thriving Building Services team. This role involves working on a variety of projects, with a particular emphasis on HVAC design for commercial and residential settings.

Responsibilities:

 •  Create specialized HVAC designs for diverse building projects.
 •  Specify components, materials, and systems with a focus on commercial and residential settings.
 •  Utilize simulation tools, especially proficiency in Hevacomp, for optimized performance in varying environments.
 •  Collaborate with architects to seamlessly integrate HVAC systems into building designs.
 •  Own design development, ensuring feasibility and compliance with relevant standards.
 •  Collaborate on prototype testing with a project-specific approach.
 •  Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in HVAC design.

Qualifications:

 •  HNC or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering; Master's a plus.
 •  Proven experience in HVAC design for complex buildings, with exposure to commercial and residential projects.
 •  Proficient in relevant design software, with specific expertise in Hevacomp.
 •  In-depth knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations related to building design.
 •  Strong creative and problem-solving skills.
 •  Passion for sustainable design practices.

Requirements:

 •  Minimum Intermediate-level mechanical engineering experience.
 •  Degree in building services engineering.
 •  Chartered Engineer or considering working towards chartership (CIBSE, IET, etc.).
 •  Experience in large building projects (£5M+).
 •  Up-to-date knowledge of building regulations and standards.
 •  Competent in industry-recognized software and design tools.
 •  BIM knowledge and experience.
 •  Proficient in Hevacomp.
 •  Previous experience in commercial and residential building projects.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £37,500.00-£50,000.00 per year
