KYN is a brand-new care home company focused on offering an elevated approach to care: Individualised journeys built around the needs and interests of our residents in beautiful surroundings with life-enriching practices.

KYN HURLINGHAM is our second home due to open in the first part of 2024. It’s a 32-bedroom home offering each resident an elegant and comfortable bedroom, communal areas for dining and reclining. We have a further two care homes in development in London.

About the opportunity

As a Bartender, you will be responsible for:

 •  To support the Hospitality Manager and Head Chef in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere and consistently delivering an exceptional catering experience for our residents and their families
 •  To support the Life Enrichment & Wellbeing Lead / Co-ordinators in the implementation of a whole home approach to the provision of meaningful occupation for all residents, taking a proactive attitude towards the engagement of all residents at all times
 •  To provide room service, restaurant, and bar service to our residents in line with KYN’s exceptional standards including preparing meal trays, delivering refreshments, and removing trays following meals
 •  To ensure that high standards of cleanliness and best practices are always maintained and that health and safety, compliance and procedures are adhered to
 •  To ensure that residents’ and their families dietary requirements are catered for
 •  To welcome, seat and provide menus to all residents and their families in the restaurant
 •  To use your extensive knowledge of the menu to give personalised drink recommendations
 •  To prepare hot and cold beverages according to company standards
 •  To input orders into Micros system in an efficient manner, to ensure clear and accurate communication of requests and allergens to the kitchen
 •  To serve food and drink orders to residents and their families, maintaining the table, offering refills, and clearing tables of dirty crockery and glasses in a timely manner
 •  To ensure that ordered dishes have been properly charged through Micros system, to present an accurate bill when required and complete payment
 •  To provide an excellent standard of service for all diners, engaging in conversation and ensuring a warm and welcoming environment
 •  To actively seek feedback from residents and their families, both positive and negative, dealing with comments according to company standards to maintain an excellent level of service
 •  To report any complaints to the Home Manager/Hospitality Manager at the earliest convenience
 •  To be aware of the differing and changing needs of our residents, treat their needs with respect, dignity, and privacy to enable a safe and enjoyable dining experience
 •  To assist colleagues in the kitchen and hospitality teams to ensure an efficient running of the operation
 •  To complete all daily tasks, opening/closing checklists and cleaning duties set out in company standards
 •  To restock beverages and ensure stock rotation in the outlet
 •  To complete beverage stock counts and providing orders to the Hospitality Manager
 •  To accept and store all beverage deliveries safely and securely
 •  To coordinate with the kitchen to ensure sufficient stock of fresh fruit and other supplies
 •  To report any hazards, potential hazards, broken equipment, and maintenance issues to your manager in a timely fashion
 •  To work in a safe and secure manner, following company standards to ensure a safe and secure environment for other team members, residents, and their families
 •  To ensure that all rules and regulations concerning serving food and beverages are strictly complied with
 •  To serve alcohol responsibly and adhere to all terms of the premises licence
 •  To create a nurturing environment where our residents and their family members feel loved, happy, safe and secure
 •  To engage in team meetings and attend training when required
 •  To be excellently presented and following company dress code and grooming standards
 •  To adhere to all KYNs policies and procedures

About you
 •  You will have experience of working within a similar hospitality venue
 •  You will be a professional, who understands the importance of delivering and maintaining high catering standards – keeping a safe, clean, and compliant environment
 •  You will have strong communication skills, a corporative and polite manner, and an eye for detail
 •  You will have the ability to work under pressure, flexibly and consistently
 •  You will be trustworthy, caring, adaptable, friendly, and patient and continuingly striving for excellence
 •  You must be over the age of 18 as you will be required to serve drinks in the bar area and the company must comply with licensing laws
 •  Undertake any other duties or training consistent with the role
 •  Undertake any reasonable requests made by management.
