At The Wise Seeker, we are looking for a Senior Educational Psychologist to work with one of our clients: a company leading national charity focused on enhancing the lives of children and young people with epilepsy and related conditions.

Tasks

Clinical and Managerial
  1.  To support the Executive Principal and the Therapies Lead in their role, contributing to decision making, service planning and strategy.
  2.  To undertake line management of the Psychology and Speech and Language teams including monitoring and reviewing performance.
  3.  To participate in education and residential panel assessment for suitability of children and young adults.
  4.  To promote and facilitate collaborative working, early intervention and integrated solutions, applying psychology to enhance the learning and development of children and young adults at St Piers.
  5.  To assess and provide psychological reports for new students to St Piers
  6.  To undertake therapy sessions to support the emotional and mental health of children and young adults at St Piers.
  7.  To provide psychological advice to staff within St Piers educational and residential services including working closely with colleagues in the Wellbeing Team.
  8.  To provide a high-quality psychological service to students and their families, schools and other partners.
  9.  To provide Assessment and Psychological reports for the Assessment Unit in Young Epilepsy.
 10.  To provide training on Psychological Approaches to Behaviour.
 11.  To contribute to delivering positive outcomes for children and young people through creative application of psychology.
 12.  This includes casework, consultation, projects and wider service initiatives Work in partnership with parents and in close co-operation with other services both within and outside Young Epilepsy in order to contribute to a co-ordinated service for children and young adults.
 13.  Be aware of, review, understand and meet organisation performance standards, policies and procedures, targets and key performance indicators.
 14.  To attend/chair/participate in various internal and external meetings, student reviews and committees etc. as required.
 15.  Responsible for ensuring all policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines relating to educational psychology interventions and/or areas of work are in place, maintained, reviewed and communicated effectively to the relevant teams.
General
 16.  Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with Health and Safety regulations as given by the Young Epilepsy Health and Safety policy and procedures.
 17.  This Job Description is not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake other reasonable and appropriate tasks.

Requirements
  1.  A doctorate or post-graduate qualification in Educational Psychology recognised by the British Psychological Society
  2.  At least 4 years’ experience in the application of psychological knowledge and skills
  3.  Clinical experience of developing and delivering highly effective person centred pathways
  4.  Used to working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  5.  Effective organisational skills
  6.  Highly developed analytical skills
  7.  Excellent communication skills and ability to communication at all levels
  8.  Effective influencing skills
  9.  Team Player
 10.  Flexible and approachable
 11.  Ability to think strategically and be holistic
