Salary in line with experience: £85 - £110 per day!
Position Overview:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse group of students with complex needs, including physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and medical conditions. You will play a vital role in providing personalised support and assistance to students, both inside and outside the classroom, to ensure their inclusion and participation in all aspects of school life.
Responsibilities:
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with complex and severe needs, assisting them with their learning, personal care, and mobility as required.
• Assist in the implementation of behaviour management strategies, under the guidance of teaching staff and other professionals.
• Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities, adapting materials and resources as necessary to meet their diverse needs.
• Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development through meaningful engagement and interaction.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and encourages student success.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour, and achievements, and communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies as required.
Requirements:
• Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a school or similar setting.
• Understanding of a range of complex needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, communication difficulties, and medical conditions.
• Compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build trusting relationships and adapt support strategies to meet individual student needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and diversity in education.
• Relevant qualifications or willingness to undergo training in areas such as safeguarding and first aid.

• Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ASD, SEMH, Complex Needs and PMLD.
• Experience providing Personal Care within a SEN Environment.
• Experience supporting/working with SEND
