The Neonatal Unit is a 20 cot unit and offers short term intensive care as well as high dependency and special care to newborn infants and families in Cornwall. We also benefit from and are supported by an established Neonatal Outreach Service covering the county.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly, busy and dedicated team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised ward clerk with confident IT skills and a commitment to developing Trust wide standards. You must be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and be committed to high quality care, with attention to detail.

You will require good telephone and reception manner, be self-motivated and able to communicate with staff, parents and visitors clearly and effectively. Previous experience dealing with the public in hospitality, customer facing role, or in a care environment will be beneficial.

You will be cheerful and motivated and need to be able to work in a calm, logical and methodical way but also be able to multi-task whilst dealing with frequent interruptions, and you must possess excellent communication skills.

The successful post holder will be expected to cover colleagues for planned and unplanned absences working additional hours. Ideally you will have recent experience in administrative and clerical duties & can demonstrate excellent customer care skills.
The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly in order to meet the changing needs of service

Provide administrative support to the ward based clinical staff.

Contribute to the effective running of the ward by concentrating on tasks which directly support administration systems and procedures.

Provide a reception service on the ward welcoming patients, visitors and staff and dealing with queries both internally and externally to the organisation.

Ensure that the quality of data being managed and processed is of a high standard.

To support the senior nursing staff with administrative duties
