A national, Highways Engineering and Transport Planning specialist are looking to recruit a Senior Highways Engineer in Fleet to join their detailed design team. You will be involved in major projects and infrastructure schemes and be a key member of the team offering Civil 3D and MicroDrainage design expertise.
As a Senior Highways Engineer you'll be working on roundabout design, junction improvements and road alignments alongside Road Adoptions and private civil infrastructure surrounding projects from a diverse range of private sector clients.
Previous schemes include working with Residential house builders to improve the junction of the A417, a Bus Station improvement scheme in the North East and the roads surrounding a 2,780 unit new residential development.
As a Senior Highways Engineer in this specialist consultancy you will be offered fantastic career development opportunities and be given further training on software's such as Causeway. You'll be given the opportunity to lead your own design team and as an SME you will be given benefits that just aren't on offer at International Consultancies such as yearly bonuses and performance bonuses throughout the year.

Senior Highways Engineer Responsibilities
Ensure designs are delivered within programme and within the budget provided; Managing resource allocations to ensure team members are fully utilised on the highest priority tasks; Work with Milestone's Senior Management Team to assist with projects from other offices and disciplines; Ensuring that the requirements of all relevant Authorities and Statutory bodies are incorporated into designs, as appropriate; Undertaking and checking / authorising design information and reports providing effective feedback; Ensuring that all designs are prepared in accordance with MCHW,DMRB and/or local design guidance; Encouraging innovation and continuous improvement within the team and displaying sound independent judgement, and; Complying with relevant Health & Safety legislation, particularly the CDM Regulations and adopting a pro-active risk management / mitigation approach.Senior Highways Engineer Requirements
Experience of working on Section 278 and Section 38 highway design projects; Experience in highway drainage design and use of MicroDrainage software; Pro-active management skills with confidence to manage teams in accordance with a growing and varied workload; Strong technical skills and experience in a range of highway design environments; Proven project management of highway projects and delivery to programme and budget; Display sound independent judgment; Experience with developing, mentoring and supervision of Highway Design staff; Robust working knowledge of highways Technical documents within the DMRB; Experience managing the development of contract documents in accordance with relevant Highway contracts; To be able to work with or advise key clients on technical issues in the highway structures sector at a senior level, and; Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Civils 3D CAD package.If interested in this position, but perhaps you'd like to find out more before formally applying please contact Taylor Smith at Calibre Search Manchester.
