We partner with leading brands from Cadbury to Clarins to Estee Lauder to engage their audiences through digital media to create highly targeted product sampling campaigns in Europe, the US and APAC.

Our end-to-end product sampling solutions drive loyalty and engagement whilst helping brands acquire rich first party data and product reviews.

We are a self-funded start-up business that has seen exceptional growth in its first 3 years. Turnover has tripled in 2023 and strong growth is forecast for 2024 and beyond. We are preparing for our first funding round in order to accelerate growth significantly faster.

The opportunity:

This is a business-critical role due to rapid growth and the need to deliver the infrastructure to support the business as we scale.

As Finance Director you will be experienced in preparing and maintaining budgets and management accounts and be responsible for all financial operations. You will have excellent presentation skills and be confident preparing historical and future budgets and presenting to investors.

As Finance Director you will report to the board of directors. Sampl is a fast-paced, agile business and requires a highly motivated and career focussed individual who is able to succeed in their core role whilst managing multiple business critical projects.

This role will suit a Finance Director looking for a broader operational/strategic role that is excited by the opportunity and challenges afforded by joining a high growth business as it scales rapidly across multiple territories. The dynamics of the role and the organisation will provide a great opportunity to help grow a business, upscale its support infrastructure with significant Operational and Strategic input.
First-hand involvement in early stage fundraising is vital.

Requirements

You will be required to run all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Finance function. This will cover everything from banking, payroll, AP, AR, accounts preparation and business partnering. In addition, improving financial controls, processes, driving automation and systems to enable effectiveness and efficiency will be hugely important.

Key responsibilities include:

 •  Understanding the key metrics of the business and driving improvement on financial KPIs
 •  Owning production of the monthly management pack, highlighting areas of note with recommendations on steps to take to improve performance
 •  Preparing and presenting financial information to potential fundraisers, including investor decks, budgets and other financial reports
 •  Leading due diligence during fundraising process
 •  Proactively monitoring the business performance and prioritising actions to improve financial KPI’s, working effectively with other departments to drive improvements
 •  Working with our procurement manager to develop rate cards for our different markets and negotiate improved terms
 •  Assisting with the evolution of our pricing strategy to maximise MRR
 •  Business forecasting & budgeting taking into account new hires, expansion plans and impact on cash flow at different performance levels
 •  Leading on cost control and reduction; balancing the need to invest and grow with the requirement for it being sustainable and profitable.
 •  Driving the strategic planning and performance of the business by the provision of effective analysis, modelling and advice
 •  Deliver the annual cash flow plan and deal with all cash related matters (bank, currency hedging)
 •  Driving process improvement with increased automation of financial reporting to free up time for value-add tasks

Skills & Experience Required:

 •  Proactive, flexible outlook and being prepared to get involved in every part of the function.
 •  Highly analytical and experienced at data manipulation, suiting a Qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA accountant with a background in technology businesses and / or the agency world
 •  First-hand involvement in early stage fundraising to successful outcomes
 •  Experience trading in multiple currencies, managing the associated risks and simplifying reporting and (gross) profit recognition
 •  Expertise in Salesforce, Xero and Google Business Suite, including the ability to present financial data in easy to interpret formats
 •  Strong people management skills with experience of managing teams and resources involved in the finance/accounting function
 •  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to create good relationships to get buy in and drive improvements across the business
 •  Excellent analytical and modelling skills. Excellent attention to detail.
 •  Excellent systems experience and high-level ability to pick up the processes within system with experience of developing reporting and improving processes

Salary:

Negotiable (dependant on experience) + bonus, share options and benefits
