We have an exciting opportunity for a E&M Mechanical Craftsperson.
As the E&M Mechanical Craftsperson within FES Group Frameworks your duties and responsibilities will include:
• The installation, fault diagnosis and repair and maintenance for all mechanical aspects of the turnkey projects.
• To undertake a range of general mechanical craft skills, which may include some maintenance or removal of pumps, pump component replacements, valves, gearboxes, specialist electrical interface hydraulics and pneumatics, fitting, pipe disconnections, and mechanical devices (such as bearing’s couplings, brakes and safety guards)
• Close liaison with the project team to plan and co-ordinate resources and materials required for the job.
• To ensure the personal safety of self and others, including undertaking extensive Risk Assessments and the subsequent selection of appropriate equipment and safe working practices.
• An extensive knowledge of the processes within Water/Waste industry.
• Key input at the design stage with other Engineering members of the project team.
• Ensure the installation provided is in accordance with the client specifications, current legislation and agreed scope of works.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
• Advanced problem-solving skills.
• HNC or NC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Excellent communication, organisational and customer service skills. In addition, the role holder should be capable of managing complex situations, work effectively as part of a team and have proficient IT skills.
• Be effective in carrying out site surveys, lone working and part of a project team.
• Have experience or an understanding of working within a strong Health & Safety culture to ensure that all Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
• A quick and responsive learner.
• The ability to plan and prioritise your work, whilst maintaining flexibility to accommodate changing priorities. Experience or an understanding of working within a strong Health & Safety culture to ensure that all Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Be a strong team player, who can work well with others to achieve common goals and have a willingness to learn from others.
