Our client is looking for an experienced Housekeeper to take a hands on role looking after a large family home in rural Herefordshire. The house is a large period property situated in a working farm environment about 10 miles south of Hereford.
Although in a rural location, the main town is very accessible for shopping and leisure.

NOTE - Live out candidates would also be considered if they were very local but live in is the preferred option

The family split their time between Herefordshire and London most weeks. The family have 2 small children and two dogs and employ other staff both inside and out.

This will be a hands on role in terms of the day to day cleaning but you will be able to bring in additional help during busy times. The family are relaxed but do expect the house to be kept to a high standard.

Duties will include:

 •  Hands on cleaning of the main rooms on a daily basis
 •  Household and personal laundry
 •  Generally keeping the home running smoothly
 •  Monitoring any maintenance and servicing needs throughout the property
 •  Dealing with trades and contractors
 •  Household admin including keeping stock and ordering provisions
 •  Assist when the family are entertaining
 •  Planning the needs for and managing additional staff when needed
 •  No cooking / no childcare
 •  Helping with the dogs and looking after them if the family are away - feeding and letting them out
 •  Responsible for household security alongside other staff living onsite

Candidates must be happy to work within a household with children and be around animals.

Must hold a full UK Driving license and be a confident driver.

Must be computer literate.

Must have excellent references and an Enhanced DBS check

Start ASAP

This will be a full-time role based on 40 hours per week, normally Monday to Friday with occasional weekends (perhaps once per month)

Accommodation is a fully self-contained 1 bedroom flat which is adjoined to the main house but with its own separate entrance. Furnished or unfurnished. Kitchen / Dining Room / Drawing Room / Bedroom & Bathroom. Pets considered but only indoor cats and dogs must be dog, child and livestock friendly.
Employer covers council tax, water and heating.
