We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join a leading engineering and manufacturing company at their site based in Buxton, High Peak.

This role involves maintaining high-speed semi-automated equipment used in the production of components for the automotive industry.

What’s on offer?
 •  £31,227 - £41,000 per year
 •  Rotating shifts
 •  6:00am – 2:00pm / 2:00pm – 10:00pm / 10:00pm – 6:00am
 •  Overtime available (paid at enhanced rate)
 •  28 days holiday

What will you be doing as a Maintenance Fitter?
 •  Performing routine maintenance on high-speed semi-automated equipment
 •  Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues
 •  Repairing or replacing defective parts, components, or systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency
 •  Conducting preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment operates at optimal levels
 •  Collaborating with production teams to schedule maintenance activities that minimise disruption to production schedules
 •  Documenting maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and preventive maintenance tasks
 •  Maintaining a clean and organised work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained
 •  Adhering to safety protocols and regulations
 •  Participating in training programs to stay updated on new technologies and maintenance techniques
 •  Assisting in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and protocols to improve equipment performance and reliability

What do you need?
 •  A mechanical/technical background
 •  Competence with maintaining automates pneumatic and cam-driven assembly equipment
 •  Experienced in operating in a busy manufacturing environment
 •  Strong problem solving skills
 •  A basic level of computer literacy
 •  NVQ Level 3 qualified or equivalent (desirable)
 •  Time served as an apprentice (desirable)
