We are looking to appoint a Clinical Research Fellow in Gynaecology Oncology at The Royal London Hospital, to commence in June 2024 or thereafter (start date will be mutually agreed). This is a 6 month post extendable to 12 months (or more). The post has a major research component.

This is an exciting opportunity for the post holder to significantly develop his/her academic skills, along with some clinical exposure in gyanecological oncology.

At Barts Health, we provide a comprehensive range of clinical care to patients with gynaecological cancer. The academic activity is undertaken at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health, Queen Mary University of London. The successful applicant will play an integral role as part of the gynaecological oncology clinical academic team working at the Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention & Early Diagnosis (CCSPED), Wolfson Institute of Population Health, Charterhouse Square, London.

The clinical research fellow will receive training and opportunity to develop a range of research/academic skills together with exposure to ongoing clinical trials activity. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake and complete research projects under the supervision of Prof Ranjit Manchanda, contribute to ongoing clinical trials/research activity; as well as participate in educational meetings, journal clubs and and audits.
The post holder will be able to register for and complete the RCOG Advanced Professional Module (APM) in clinical research. Following successful performance, the postholder may have the opportunity to register for a higher degree (MD/PhD). The rota for this post is structured with protected time to achieve these goals.
This position will have a 1:7 weekend on call commitment on the SHO rota. The candidate, if eligible, may use the skills and outputs gained from this post to subsequently apply for subspecialty training in gynaecological oncology.

The post holder will play an important role in the clinical multi-disciplinary team (which includes 6 consultants, 2 subspecialty fellows, 6 SHOs and clinical nurse specialists) who manage patients with Gynaecological cancer. The person will receive exposure to management of high-risk/ familial gynaecological cancer patients at the Barts Womens Precision Prevention Clinic.
