Job Title: Interim Traffic Engineering Programme Manager
Location: South West, UK
Duration: 6-months ongoing
Pay: Inside IR35 – Negotiable DOE

As the Interim Traffic Engineering Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and implementation of engineering projects aimed at enhancing highway infrastructure in the South West region. Your focus will be on delivering projects that contribute to positive outcomes, including road safety, sustainability, improved accessibility, and reduced carbon footprint.
You will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of projects, from initiation to business as usual, while ensuring value for money and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of engineering projects focused on highway improvements in the South West region.
Ensure that projects align with strategic objectives related to road safety, sustainability, active travel, public transport, and accessibility.
Manage the full lifecycle of projects, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, while adhering to timelines and budgets.
Oversee commissioning, procurement, and contract management activities associated with engineering projects.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, assess needs, and address concerns related to project delivery.
Utilize your expertise in highway engineering delivery and traffic management to drive the successful implementation of projects.
Maintain productive relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and industry partners.

Requirements

Educated to degree level in a relevant field, such as civil engineering or transportation engineering.
Proven experience in delivering highway engineering schemes, with a focus on project management and programme implementation.
Demonstrated expertise in commissioning, procurement, and contract management within the transportation sector.
Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles and traffic management techniques.
