Rate: £16/hr
We are seeking a skilled Finance Assistant to join our team, supporting our housing client in Sutton. As the Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role as the first point of contact for both internal and external customers regarding financial matters.
Your primary responsibilities will include effectively managing customer inquiries, providing administrative support to the Finance Team, and ensuring efficient and timely invoice processing.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external customers regarding financial inquiries.
Manage Finance Team mailboxes across all systems.
Process purchase and sales ledger invoices.
Administer new supplier setups and amendments.
Handle rent account and General Ledger transactions.
Notify residents of changes to charges and direct debits within statutory deadlines.
Draft reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts and propose corrections as necessary.
Create accounting journals and provide general administrative support to the Finance Team.
Conduct first-stage arrears collection for company and former tenant debt.Qualifications and Skills:
Customer-focused with a solution-based approach to handling inquiries.
Ability to explain complex matters in non-technical terms.
Accurate and efficient data input skills.
Effective management and prioritisation of workload to meet performance targets.
Proactive problem-solving skills.
Ownership mentality within the scope of the job role, with a desire for skill and knowledge development.
Confidence in using IT, particularly spreadsheets.
Knowledge of large-scale accounting systems.
Familiarity with Housing Management databases.
