CY Partners are currently recruiting for a Polymer / Materials Scientist to join a forward-thinking manufacturer of innovative materials based in Lincolnshire. Developing and supplying cutting-edge, sustainable composites for use in a variety of applications traditionally filled by plastics, they are seeking to expand their R&D team and are seeking a Polymer / Materials scientist to aid in the further development & optimisation of their products.
This would be an ideal starting point for a PhD scientist looking to enter the industrial sector and keen to see their work applied to creating sustainable products that can be seen on the market now.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and development of Microplastic free, water dispersible polymers and graphene infused polymers
Optimisation of current materials, biodegradable polymers & adhesives
Design and validation of new testing protocols
Managing research projects, budgets and laboratory equipment

Role Requirements:
A Master’s degree or PhD in Chemistry, Materials / Polymer Science, Biochemistry or related field.
Excellent knowledge relating to polymer chemistry, nano-materials or graphene infused materials.
Prior experience (academic or industrial) in an R&D / materials development environment.
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clear, concise reports
