Consultant Physician in Diabetes & Endocrinology | North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust | Peterborough | findajob.dwp.gov.uk |
Are you an experienced physician in Diabetes and Endocrinology looking for new opportunities for career development?

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is the perfect place for you to succeed.

Join our experienced and innovative team of Consultant Diabetologists and Endocrinologists and other Consultant Physicians in providing excellent services in diabetes and endocrinology and general internal medicine in a new, state-of-the-art hospital and purpose-built community diabetes centre.

You will showcase your experience and develop your skills and confidence under the guidance of an inspiring team. The role is based at Peterborough City Hospital, however, cross site working at our acute hospital sites and clinics will be expected.

You will be committed to the development and innovation of our services to provide high-quality clinical care for in-patients on the Diabetes/General Medical ward. You contribute to the development of excellence in clinical practice through research, audit, and participation in clinical and social care governance.

We believe in flexibility and a work/life balance. If you wish to work less than full time, we are happy to consider part time and job share requests.

If you wish to discuss this role or arrange an information meeting, please contact Dr Satya Sagi, Consultant ats.sagi@nhs.net.

The job plan is anticipated to contain 10 programmed activities with an approximate split of 8.5 direct clinical care programmed activities (CPA) of Diabetes and Endocrinology and General Internal Medicine and 1.5 PA’s for supporting professional activity (SPA).
However, we are willing to accommodate any different number of PAs as the service permits.

Alongside colleagues, you will provide specialist led inpatient and outpatient Diabetes & Endocrine services. This includes ward referrals and supporting the team of trained DSNs.

Your prime clinical responsibility will be accountability for the continuous care of in-patients and outpatients, and as part of this responsibility, a share of the out-of-hours general medical on -call rota arrangements at the Trust.

You will work as an integral part of the Multidisciplinary Trust wide Diabetes network and attend Clinical Governance and Multidisciplinary Team meetings at multiple Trust and external provider sites.

Appropriate standards of care for patients must be a priority as well as appropriate standards of education and training for medical staff in training. Therefore, you will contribute to the teaching of medical students, trainee advanced care practitioners, specialist nurses and participate in weekly postgraduate meetings as well as audit, governance, morbidity and mortality and training meetings.

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust provides acute care to our local communities via two District General Hospitals in Peterborough and Huntingdon, and a community hospital in Stamford.

We are promoting flexible working and a health work/home life balance. Agile working options are automatically considered for all roles within the Trust.

We welcome and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly encourage applications from disabled, Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and candidates from our local communities.

Your package with us includes a lot more than just your pay and here are a few of the additional benefits that are available to you as an employee:
 •  Access to the NHS Pension Scheme
 •  Relocation allowance in line with the Trust policy
 •  Generous Holiday Entitlement, starting at 27 days a year (for full time workers) plus bank/public holidays.
 •  Free staff car parking on all our hospital sites during this financial year
 •  In-house Physiotherapy Services
 •  Career development and training opportunities
 •  Emotional Wellbeing Service covering a range of online support, access to mobile apps and 24/7 counselling services.
 •  Subsidised meals at our hospital restaurants
 •  Access to exclusive discounts, cashback and vouchers via NHS Discounts and Blue Light Card

If you share our values and vision and are passionate about working with people on what matters to them, you could be a real asset to Team North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.
